SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER - ELL (GYT)


Location: Budapest, XI. district, hybrid (2 days in office)

Salary: competitive

Type of employment: full time, contractor


Responsibilities:

  • Supports segment Programme Manager in vendor selection and briefing for quality compliance, schedule and budget. 
  • Monitors the budgets and schedules and tracks efficiency metrics of the assigned projects, ensuring visibility of project health.
  • For outsourced end-to-end projects, oversees vendor delivery status, ensuring timely updates and that Pearson provides aligned, actionable feedback at all agreed QA checkpoints.
  • Leads end-to-end project management for prototyping and, when required, for internally assigned projects, including planning budgets, drafting schedules, commissioning work, coordinating deliverables, consolidating documentation and managing day-to-day communication.
  • Supports vendors to ensure successful production and delivery of projects, according to specified objectives around cost, time and quality. Provides feedback on performance, jointly with Content.
  • Facilitates communication across cross-functional teams to ensure workflow alignment.
  • Proactively manages risks with vendors: if resolution is not possible within the team, raise project risks and issues using the agreed process.
  • Works with Digital Content Publishing and manufacturing teams to publish or push live signed off projects.
  • Implements & oversees that proper process and standards are met (QA, rights & permissions clearance, adherence to accessibility standards, print standards, media standards, archive standards).
  • Delivery of project the Content Project Manager is responsible for on time (as per title publication deadlines) and within budget
  • Delivery of products adhering to all required production standards while maximising time and cost efficiencies
  • Implementation and enhanced usage of innovative and efficient content tools

Requirements:

  • Experience, Skills and Knowledge
  • Qualified to degree level or equivalent
  • Experience in leading project teams
  • Experience in various methodologies of project management (e.g. agile, lean)
  • Proficiency in Smartsheet and Excel
  • Ability to work independently, problem solve and make decisions
  • Excellent time-management and prioritisation skills with the ability to multi-task and deal with ambiguity
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment
  • At least 2 years’ experience in project management, ideally in ELL
  • Confident English
  • Candidateneeds to be to be currently eligible to work in Hungary.
