SENIOR REDHAT OPENSHIFT PLATFORM ENGINEER - KUBERNETES+CYBERSECURITY (LJT)

Location: Budapest, XI. district, hybrid (2 days/week in office)

Tasks:

Design, implement, and maintain advanced observability platforms to provide deep visibility into system health, performance, and telemetry.
Proactively build system resiliency patterns to minimize downtime and optimize recovery processes for critical open-source applications.
Define and manage Service Level Objectives (SLOs), Service Level Indicators (SLIs), and error budgets to drive platform reliability.
Architect and build comprehensive security solutions for containerized environments and Kubernetes clusters.
Manage and optimize complex container network architectures, ensuring secure and efficient microservice communication.
Design and implement robust Authentication and Authorization (AuthN/AuthZ) controls, enforcing least-privilege access across the platform.
Actively leverage AI software engineering agents such as Devin AI and GitHub Copilot to accelerate infrastructure code generation, automation, and incident resolution.
Drive a culture of AI-assisted DevOps, embedding AI-driven practices into engineering workflows and delivery pipelines.
Develop advanced automation solutions and custom operational tooling using Python to improve efficiency and platform scalability.
Manage end-to-end DevOps CI/CD pipelines for open-source applications, ensuring secure, high-quality, and rapid delivery of infrastructure and application changes.
Active contributor or strong background working with open-source communities and open-source application deployment.
Industry certifications in Kubernetes (CKA, CKS) or DevSecOps.
Experience migrating traditional DevOps workflows into AI-augmented engineering lifecycles.
Previous experience supporting highly regulated, secure, or mission-critical platforms.

Requirements:

7+ years of proven experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), DevOps, or Platform Engineering.
Exceptional programming skills in **Python**, with a strong portfolio of automation and backend infrastructure scripting.
Deep, hands-on administrative and networking experience with Kubernetes and Unix/Linux systems.
Proven track record of building and managing container security solutions and identity/access management (AuthN/AuthZ) frameworks.
Forward-thinking approach with hands-on readiness to integrate AI agents (Devin AI) into daily engineering workflows.
Ability to thrive in a high-stakes, "critical delivery" environment.
Confident English in written and spoken.
Candidate needs to be to be currently eligible to work in Hungary.

Good to have:

Target Certifications: CCIE Security, CCNP Security, ACE Expert (Level 7), ACE Professional, PCNSE, CCSE, NSE 7, or CISSP.
Experience in Tier 1 financial institutions or highly regulated environments adhering to PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, or NIST CSF.
Hands-on experience with Arista CloudVision, Cilium/eBPF container networking, and cloud security platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
