BUSINESS CONTINUITY MANAGER (GYT)


Location: Budapest, XI. district, hybrid (2 days office)

Salary: competitive

Responsibilities

  • Complete Business Impact Assessments (BIAs) for All Critical Processes
    • Lead and execute BIAs across ELL for critical processes
    • Document recovery requirements including RTOs, RPOs, critical dependencies, single points of failure, and third party reliance.
    • Integrate audit-identified needs such as formal scenario based risk assessment and structured identification of business critical functions.
    • Produce a divisional criticality and resilience profile to inform continuity planning and governance.
  • Build and Implement a Formal Business Continuity Governance Framework
    • Establish a formal BC governance structure, addressing all audit identified deficiencies:
    • Creation of a BC charter defining scope, authority, and accountability.
    • Definition of roles and responsibilities across all ELL functions.
    • Creation of oversight routines, reporting mechanisms, and metrics to track readiness.
  • Ensure the framework is self sustaining and can be maintained after the end of the contract.
  • Identify and Address Process, Risk, and Documentation Gaps
    • Conduct a comprehensive comparison of existing ELL continuity documentation against best practice and audit findings.
    • Identify gaps including:
    • Missing BIAs
    • Incomplete, outdated, or poorly structured BCPs
    • Insufficient alignment with risk assessments
    • Lack of defined crisis communication processes
  • Create a structured remediation log with prioritised actions and owners.
  • Update and Align All Documentation to the New Governance Framework
  • Rewrite or bring up to standard all Business Continuity Plans (BCPs), ensuring they reflect:
    • Critical processes identified in BIAs
    • Required recovery parameters
    • Consistent structure, ownership, and governance
  • Develop or refine Crisis Management Plans and communication templates, addressing the audit’s findings on the absence of approved messaging, defined roles, and escalation triggers.
  • Ensure documentation is audit ready and fit for regulatory obligations (e.g., provision related commitments).
  • Design a Division Wide BCP Testing Programme
  • Develop a structured annual testing cycle with defined scenarios, triggers, validation criteria, and documentation templates.
  • Introduce mechanisms to log lessons learned and track improvements.
  • Ensure the testing programme aligns to ELL’s risk profile, supplier dependencies, and regulatory obligations.
  • Provide clear guidance enabling ELL to run the tests after the contract period.
  • Establish Third Party & Supplier Resilience Oversight
  • Build a BU level process for identifying, assessing, and tracking the resilience of critical suppliers, addressing the gap noted in the audit.
  • Implement mechanisms for ongoing monitoring, escalation, and integrating supplier risks into continuity planning.
  • Ensure supplier dependencies are embedded into BIAs, BCPs, and governance routines.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of Business Continuity Management experience in large, complex, global organizations.
  • Demonstrable success leading BIAs, governance design, continuity framework development, and third party resilience programmes.
  • Experience working under audit or regulatory scrutiny, including remediation of maturity gaps
  • Confident English
  • Candidate needs to be to be currently eligible to work in Hungary.
